Pale or scorched patches

Sudden strong sun can damage leaves that are not acclimated.

What to look for

Sun damage often appears on exposed areas after a change in light. Pale, bleached or dry brown patches can resemble other damage, so consider when the plant was moved and which side faces the sun.

What to do

Move it away from harsh direct sun, while keeping suitable light for the species. Introduce brighter conditions gradually. Damaged areas stay marked; use new growth to judge the adjustment.
