Removing a yellow leaf
One old yellow leaf is different from widespread yellowing.

What to look for
Check whether the leaf is fully yellow or dry, and whether others are changing too. Some plants need aging foliage until it has finished yellowing; widespread symptoms deserve a care check first.
What to do
If removal is appropriate, trace that leaf’s own stalk to its base and trim without nicking the main stem or nearby buds. For a brown tip, you may trim the dead part while preserving green tissue.
